I had the chance to take sweet baby Essie's first year photos. Since her parents are stationed here in Texas for a short time, they wanted something that was uniquely Texas to remember their time in the Lone Star State. With bluebonnet season behind us, we went for the next best thing - the Historic Pearl and Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. I searched and searched for the perfect cake stand, and this one from HomeGoods is exactly what I'd envisioned! I just love how Amber (Essie's Momma) picked a pink iced cake and tutu to match her "Essie" onesie.
You never know what reaction you're going to get from a cake smash! Essie wasn't too excited about getting her hands sticky in the icing and her expressions are so cute. She was such a trooper. Memories by MarkenOur first wedding day - October 16, 2010 - was a beautiful day. My small town church was full of friends and family. My college roommates and friends traveled in a day early to help decorate for the reception. And Marcus, my handsome groom, surprised me with a song he wrote for me just before I walked the aisle.
Now nearly eight years into our marriage, and just six months into running our own multi-media company, Marken Media Co. - we've expanded our services to include wedding videography. We reached out to local venue Sandy Oaks Ranch for a prospective "second" wedding - this time not as bride and groom, but as videographers. Usually, Marcus has been the one behind the video camera. He's been shooting and editing videos for about twenty years. Now it was my turn to join the fun! We had great time, and with a quick two-day turnaround, released our debut highlight reel to social media. Here's what the bride said: "My husband and I really didn’t know what to expect until we saw our video and it just truly blew us away. They did such an amazing job, and now from them we’ll have a video of the day that meant the most to us! We recommend them to all family and friends!" |
