I had the chance to take sweet baby Essie's first year photos. Since her parents are stationed here in Texas for a short time, they wanted something that was uniquely Texas to remember their time in the Lone Star State. With bluebonnet season behind us, we went for the next best thing - the Historic Pearl and Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. I searched and searched for the perfect cake stand, and this one from HomeGoods is exactly what I'd envisioned! I just love how Amber (Essie's Momma) picked a pink iced cake and tutu to match her "Essie" onesie. You never know what reaction you're going to get from a cake smash! Essie wasn't too excited about getting her hands sticky in the icing and her expressions are so cute. She was such a trooper. Babies are always on the move! Momma plopped her down on the bench, and I got as many shots as I could before she realized she was flying solo! These wooden doors at the stable have special memories for me. It's where I got yelled at (by someone who was hosting a private event there) when I was snapping Leyah and Brian's engagements back in 2016. We stood our ground and snapped our photo.... then quickly ran away. :) It's the season for photos! I recently did Jaxson's 3-year (yipes!) and to give you a hint, his pics include one of his favorite foods (LARABAR). And celebrating little Essie's one year shoot also reminds me... I still have my Caden's one year shots to do because June 2 is coming up quick!
