It's mini vacation time! Last week we took a trip to Dallas to celebrate Gary & Pat's adoption. On the way, we stopped for a day in beautiful Waco, Texas. We got to catch up with one of my college roommates, Jessica, and her family. Jessica and Matt have been buying and flipping homes in and around Waco in their very own Chip-and-Jo-esque style for a few years now. Their most recent flip turned into a keeper and is now an Airbnb house! Isn't it cute? It's located in McGregor, just 20 minutes from all the fun in downtown Waco. And it's got three bedrooms (you could easily sleep a couple more if you used the living room couch or air mattress). We smudged it, but look at the cute little chalk art to greet us! Being the great hosts they were, Jess and Matt also took us to the Mayborn Museum at Baylor University. Jaxson loved the trains, music room, mini store, bubbles and the water station. It's so sweet to see our boys play together. Now that he's older and has such a good memory, J even asks to call Coleston sometimes! Here we are with our boys. Marcus convinced everyone we needed Muchacos from Taco Bueno. If they would re-open their San Antonio location, I know he'd bring them plenty of biz. After catching a good night's sleep in Jess and Matt's Airbnb, we hit Waco town for some fun before heading up IH-35 to Dallas. We've been to the Silos before, but this was our first time to Magnolia Table, Chip's breakfast joint. We were there on a Thursday morning at 8 a.m. sharp and the wait time was still right at an hour. Kennan Tip: Don't go hangry. Maybe eat a snack first! I sipped on an iced mocha from their coffee bar and the boys played games while we waited for our table. Yay! We made it! We had the bacon, biscuits, and fruit. We also had some Fresh Face juice made of pomegranate, apple, lemon and watermelon. After breakfast, we took a stroll through Magnolia Market where J picked out a yellow tulip for Mimi.
