Hello, world! We have a 3-year-old on our hands! Jaxson is our picky eater. He will only eat a handful of different foods. But one of them we can cheer on is LARABAR since they're made with nuts and dried fruits. Between Marcus (my husband) and Jax, we easily go through several boxes a month! (I think I should go get stock in those things!)
So choosing our prop for his 3-year photos was easy. What wasn't so easy, was getting our on-the-move boy to stay still.
As most mom-tographers can relate, I had a picture in my mind and I just had to get it in real life. I tried getting the poses I'd pre-planned, but in true toddler form we had to adapt to what he was ready to do.
When I finally relaxed and just started talking to him, he sat in the pile of LARABARs and asked if we could open one (why of course?!) ... and then it happened.
His sweet storyteller side came out. He started telling me all about Boss (my dad) and how he drives the tractor around at the "farm barn." How he takes the peanuts and dumps them in the dump truck and drives them to the market.
How this year has flown by faster than ever. I look back at photos of you just a few months ago, and you've changed so much. I love the way you tell stories. I love how you always notice the little things (even seeing the "M" in Marken Media on a tiny business card on a community board and yelling out with exuberance, "Marken Media!"). I love hearing you pray for people at bedtime. You are so kind to share with your little brother Caden and cheer him on as he learns new things. Your dad and I are so proud of you!
Happy 3rd birthday!
